Cigars Punch
Punch changes several times of owners. In 1874, the company is bought by Luis Corujo who refines the aromatic panel of the cigars while giving them more character in their looks and technical characteristics. Ten years later, Punch becomes the property of Don Manuel Lopez Fernandez, founder of Juan Valle & Co. The year 1925 is marked by a move: Punch cigars are now made in the same factory where Hoyo de Monterrey cigars are rolled. This collaboration between the two brands is still in place today for part of the production. When the Wall Street crash of October 1929 occurred, the resulting economic crisis did not spare Punch. The brand was sold again and the buyer was Palacio y Cía. Thanks to the initiatives of the new owner, Punch moves upmarket, which increases its reputation and leads to a significant increase in sales.
Characteristics
The Punch cigars are either mild or medium strength. They all release a woody note with a light tobacco aroma. To this aromatic background typical of the cigars of the brand, are added the specificities in flavors of each vitola. These puros are suitable for both beginners and advanced smokers. Each vitola contains a blend of tobaccos grown in the plantations of Vuelta Abajo. These are long filler cigars that are entirely handmade in the La Corona factory. Several modules are available, but the Corona is the most represented.
