Montecristo Herederos is an anniversary vitola unveiled in 2020 to celebrate Montecristo’s 85th anniversary as well as the 30th anniversary of the La Casa del Habano network. This limited edition, distributed exclusively at La Casa del Habano boutiques and Habanos Specialists, ranks among the brand’s most notable commemorative releases. When smoked, it develops woody and roasted aromas, accompanied by notes of coffee, cocoa, and spices, with a flavor profile that gradually gains in intensity.
Produced in Cuba, the Montecristo Herederos is entirely handcrafted using traditional Habanos methods. Its wrapper, binder, and filler are made from tobacco grown in the Vuelta Abajo region of Pinar del Río province. The leaves undergo several stages of cultivation, harvesting, drying, fermentation, and grading before being blended. The rolling is performed by torcedores to ensure uniform density and a consistent draw.
The name «Herederos,» which means «heirs,» pays tribute to the passing down of Montecristo’s craftsmanship. This Cazadores Especiales galera vitola measures 162 mm in length, with a diameter of 18.6 mm and a ring gauge of 47. The smoking time ranges from 60 to 80 minutes. Its strength is generally considered medium to strong.
